Lansing, Michigan is now home to the newest Beer Grotto, opening this Saturday April 18th, at 11 a.m. New businesses in Lansing are always a cause for celebration and this new establishment is no exception.

The Beer Grotto Lansing features 48 taps and 24 boutique wines, a little something for every type of palate. Located in the Stadium District storefront on Michigan Avenue, the new beer hot spot is the ideal place to hit up after a Lugnuts game or just for a nice night out. The Grotto allows guests to try before they buy, meaning customers can sample an array of craft beer before settling on their favorite.

“Taste it. Love it. Tote it.”

The Beer Grotto’s marketing director told the Lansing State Journal, “We want people to be able to come in, sample and really fall in love with the beer. They can try it here or take it home. We want to make craft beer less intimidating. We don’t want people to have buyers’ remorse anymore.” A revolutionary concept for those who want to experiment but not have to worry about getting stuck with a beer they don’t particularly like.

The Grotto features “tasting pods” where you describe what kind of taste you’re looking for and are offered recommendations from the employees. During your pod time you can also take in the murals featured by Detroit artist Jeremy Harvey.

The Beer Grotto also offers a simple but flavorful menu to complement the beer and wine, with items like the Grotto Cuban, a twist on a classic Cuban sandwich. Other items include seasonal soups and artisanal cheese boards, which include spicy feta.  On the opening day, the first 100 people in line will receive a free panini sandwich or salad.

Three quarters of the beer will be Michigan craft brews and everything Beer Grotto sells in the store, they also sell to go. Other merchandise will be offered as well including ceramic growlers that have an optional attachment which turns them into small kegs.

The Beer Grotto has locations in Dexter and Ann Arbor and is working with Short’s Brewing Co. in Bellaire to create a mango IPA.

For beer tasting, good food, and a great atmosphere attend the Beer Grotto’s opening day tomorrow at 11 a.m.!
