When you’re tight on cash, but find it impossible to stop spending and start saving, it can be overwhelming and frustrating. There are multiple easy ways to save and use your money better. Here are some easy to do tips on how to save your money.

Create a Vision

First envision the lifestyle you want to live, meaning envision how much you want to save and why. List your budget, including everything from groceries, to gas, and bar money. Come up with what’s doable with the amount of money you have coming in and create a plan to stick to it. It can be a regime as simple as not bringing your debit card out with you to avoid spending more than the cash you allotted for the night or as complicated as budgeting your weeks down to the last dime. You can do it whatever way you find comfortable and possible. Having a set goal of how much you want to save per month is important too. If you make $2,000 a month, for example, then set the goal that you will save $500 of that and will not spend it unless an emergency arises. This will keep you focused on your goal and will make saving easier.

Think Before You Spend

Think before you buy that coffee, you have coffee at home and next time plan ahead and pack your own travel mug before walking to work. Think before buying that sweater, do you really need it or does it just look cool? Impulse spending is the major killer of funds, don’t go to the store and browse, go with a set list of things you are going to get and then leave. Eat out less and cut out frivolous spending on things that you really don’t need.

Walk More

Gas is a major money guzzler and can really add up in terms of your budget. Create a carpooling system with your coworkers or friends, trading regularly to save you all some money. Walk more places if you can, you can exercise and can save money in the process.

There are so many easy ways to save money that most people don’t even think of and engaging in all or even some of them an really save you money!
